Devlog Update: Hub World Expansion and FPP Model Enhancements

Hello and welcome back to the next episode of Soulcoom's Development;

Hub World & Minimap Integration

  • Minimap Development: Introduced a basic minimap to the hub world, currently displaying key locations. Future updates will include location icons and markers for better navigation.
  • New Areas Added: Expanded the world with a farmstead and mountainous region to the East. Each building now has a defined purpose, such as shops, homes, and interactive points, adding more life to the hub world.
  • Questlines & Stories: Initial versions of the main quests and side quests have been implemented, laying the groundwork for richer story-driven gameplay.

FPP Model Enhancements

  • Dynamic Head Movements: Enhanced head movements that react to penetration, mouse inputs, and idle animations. Introduced an optional control mode using WASD.
  • Facial Asset Updates: We had to revert to older facial assets due to compatibility issues with new artwork from other programs. The changes include updated eye and face assets with small stylistic adjustments that maintain the model's original aesthetic. Facial proportions were refined, and a makeup opacity slider was added for more customization.
  • Hypno Eyes Integration: Began work on hypno eye effects. Currently resolving conflicts between visual layers to ensure smooth implementation.

Upcoming Focus

  • Unified Haircuts: Side-facing haircuts are now adapted for the FPP model, ensuring continuity across both FPP and platform modes. This update allows players to maintain the same haircut style throughout different perspectives.
  • New Kneeling Pose Development: Progress is underway on the second FPP body, which features a submissive kneeling pose. This addition aims to offer more versatility in character positioning within the game.
  • FPP Spread Eagle Pose: progress on the art for the FPP pose is coming along well.
  • Nod & Head Shake Animations: Creating natural "yes" and "no" animations using mouse-captured movements for more lifelike responses.
  • Expanded Questlines: Adding more locations, refining quests, and implementing new interactions to enhance the hub world experience.
  • Minimap Improvements: Finalizing location icons and enhancing overall UI functionality.
