Devlog Update: Job System, UI Framework, and Stat Integration

Hello and welcome back!

UI Enhancements

  • Job System Expansion:
    • The job system is now operational, with two fully functional job paths: Creamveil farmhand and bartender. Each job path features over 10 unique events that trigger based on player stats, adding variety and depth. Job outcomes influence your stats, pass time in-game, and can grant rewards or penalties.
  • Stats and Info Screen:
    • Introduced a comprehensive stats and info screen, organized into four categories: general, social/relationship, work, and towns. Each category tracks relevant player data, such as reputation and job performance. Placeholder graphics are in place, but we’ll enhance the visual elements in future updates.
  • Dynamic Time System:
    • Implemented a basic time management mechanic. Jobs consume time, and players will be restricted from working after a certain threshold, ensuring strategic gameplay. A clock display is in development, and a new clock graphic has been added for tracking in-game time.

FPP Model

  • New Back Facing Model
    • Working on creating a full 360 while we are in this area, it just makes sense from a design perspective to hit this at the same time. This redesign is focused on simplifying a lot of the earlier systems so that we can make clothing items for the models more easily. It's about time we put in their fairy wings as well.
  • Reverse Cowgirl Position
    • Reworked the reverse cowgirl position some more this week in our exclusive preview.

Upcoming Improvements

  • Relationship and Work System Expansion:
    • Developing a relationship tab to populate characters the player meets, with plans to make them clickable for detailed interactions. Additionally, the work reputation system will be expanded, allowing players to rank up and earn new opportunities and rewards as they build experience.
  • Visual Enhancements:
    • We’re considering unique artwork for job outcomes and backgrounds to make each event more immersive. The current setup changes colors between outcomes, but custom illustrations would elevate the experience further.
