Devlog Update: Dialogue Overhaul, Cinematic Intro, and UI Refinements

Hello and welcome back! This week we've been focusing on creating the prologue and the first act of the game.
We are upgrading from the old manga style dialogue UI to a new cleaner one as well as finding places to showcase the new work including the FPP camera.

Dialogue System Overhaul

  • Refactored the dialogue system and editor to align with the story's updated structure.
  • Fully integrated the new dialogue UI, providing a cleaner and more immersive experience.
  • Implemented hover and commit colors for dialogue options to distinguish between the 4 reply types that will consistently appear.

Prologue Intro: Jaded Glade

  • Started implementing the intro animation for the "Jaded Glade," a hypnotic jungle dimension where the souls of the Fate go to rest.
  • Rewrote the intro to include a second Mysterious Visitor. The Player will now be awakened by twins, instead of a single visitor.
  • The player is mythified as The Legend of Da'di, a reincarnation
  • Incorporated placeholders for animations, events, and transitions like darkening and model reveals.

Act 1.0: Awakening

  • Writing has begun for the player waking up in Ms. Creamveil's cottage. 
  • Upon waking, the amnesiac player will need to relearn how to move their limbs through physic minigames.
  • The player will also need to relearn how to interpret the Fairy language through a text minigame.
  • This area also serves as the tutorial for learning how to use the inventory and explore the 2D sections of our world.
  • In the exclusive update this week we have the rewrite from the prologue and a preview of Ms. Creamveil's conversations.
