Devlog Update: Inventory System Overhaul and More

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to bring you an update on some significant advancements we've made in the development of our game's new model design. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve been focusing on during this redesign phase:

Introducing First-Person Perspective

We’re taking a bold step with our latest model by shifting to a first-person perspective. This change is more than just a shift in viewpoint; it’s an opportunity to explore new scenarios and interactions within the game. The immersive nature of this perspective will allow players to engage in the environment and narrative in a more personal way.

Enhanced Emotional Expression

One of the key features we're excited about is the enhanced capability of our front-facing mode to display a wide range of emotional expressions. Our model will showcase the eight primary emotions: Anticipation, Joy, Trust, Fear, Shock, Remorse, Disgust, and Anger. Each emotion will be expressed in three different states: open eye, closed eye, and narrowed eye. This depth of emotional expression aims to create a more nuanced and responsive experience for the players.

Dynamic Facial Movements

We're integrating dynamic movement of facial features to add realism and responsiveness to the character interactions. The eyes, eyebrows, mouth, nose, and ears, along with the proportions of the jaw and skull, will adjust and move based on the head’s orientation. This feature is somewhat reminiscent of 2Dlive technology but goes beyond with our custom solution, offering limitless possibilities. The level of control and fluidity we’re achieving with these movements is very exciting.

Progress on New Content

As some of you may have noticed in previous posts, we have completed the body for our newest interactive scene. However, we've decided to keep this under wraps until the facial animations are fully integrated and polished. We believe this will offer a more complete and satisfying reveal.
