FPP Model, Hub World, and New Location

Hello everyone,

This week, our focus has been on finalizing the FPP face assets, refining the visual aspects of our Hub World, and connecting the new Hub World with all the other existing gameplay elements we've created so far.

Hub World Expansion and Lighting Improvements

  • The town has been renamed to 'Faewood', and we've made significant progress on its lighting, especially at night, where a high saturation of dark blue tones now creates a more immersive nighttime environment.
  • We've integrated the hideout into the Hub World and added environmental details like giant trees, grass, shrubs and flowers that wave in the wind, enhancing the organic feel of the environment.
  • We've started on a new area, a potion shop!

Gameplay and Visual Enhancements

  • We're working on finding a solution to seeing through the map properly, right now that's a masking circle.
  • The inventory and stats system is now connected to the Hub World, moving us closer to full integration



Artistic and Technical Collaboration

  • We’re refining textures and color palettes to better align with our game’s solar punk visual style, focusing on creating a more cohesive and organic environment.
  • We've discovered a new technique to better mask perspective transitions for features like the nose while rotating the face in FPP mode.
